My background includes 24 years of Human Resources management and professional experience coordinating programs from conception to completion. Throughout my career, I have had experience in all generalist functions, including: employee relations, writing policies and procedures to comply with legislation, managing benefits administration and salary administration. I have a Bachelor of Science in Business from Emporia State University.  I am a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), as well as HR Houston, where I have served on the Program Committee for two years and have won the Volunteer of the Year award.  In my career I have provided services to employees and management in white-collar, union and manual-labor environments.

I currently work for Insperity as a Senior Human Resources Specialist in Houston, TX where I focus on positively impacting my clients’ bottom lines, enhancing their productivity and reducing their liability by recommending and implementing HR best practices encompassing handbooks and customized policy development, job descriptions, compensation plans, performance appraisal systems, employee counseling, liability training, and climate surveys. I have participated on numerous company teams associated with Kaizen facilitation, Accelerated Leadership Development, and the HR Center of Excellence assisting with developing liability training materials.  While at Insperity, I have won the Employee of the Month Service Award twice.

My husband and I were transferred to Houston 35 years ago, and we liked Houston so much, we never left.  I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes two grown children, a son and a daughter, as well as two dogs and a long-haired tabby cat (we are animal lovers)!  Since our children finished college, my husband and I travel whenever possible.  I also volunteer at my church, being a Stephen Minister and a Stephen Minister Leader.
