My background includes 14 years of Human Resource experience for industries such as oil trading and biochemical research and development. I have my certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and am a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP). I am a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and HR Houston, where I have served on the Program Committee for two years and have won the Volunteer of the Year award.

I began my career at Insperity in Houston, TX as a Payroll Specialist. I was then promoted to Senior Payroll Specialist, followed by Human Resource Representative before I was promoted to my current position of Human Resource Specialist. In this position, I provide Management/Supervisor employee counseling and assistance; Supervisory Training in liability and risk management; review and develop Employee Handbooks and policies; and consult with my small to mid-sized business clients regarding Compensation Programs/Wage & Salary Issues, Job Descriptions, Employee Surveys, and Performance Management/Appraisals.

While I wasn’t born in Houston, I’ve lived here for all but 10 years of my life and consider it my only home.  My husband and I have been volunteering our time since 1994 with the Engaged Encounter organization which provides an opportunity for engaged couples to prepare personally and as a couple for marriage.  I have a 2½ year old son that usually keeps me pretty busy, but in my spare time I love to read, particularly when I get to read legal or medical mysteries. I also enjoy playing the piano when I can and am proud to say that my son has already learned where Middle C, D and E are on the piano!
