2010 minimum wage laws by state or jurisdiction

The U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division, has published a geographical map on its Web site.

Here employers can easily identify the applicable minimum wage laws by state or jurisdiction. Note: Where federal and state law have different minimum wage rates, the higher standard applies.

The federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. So, in those cases where an employee is subject to both state and federal minimum wage laws, the employee is entitled to the higher minimum wage.
