Bars and casinos no longer exempt under Montana's Clean Indoor Air Act

Bars and casinos will no longer be exempt under the Montana Clean Indoor Air Act as of October 1, 2009. Bars and casinos were exempt under the law until September 30, 2009. Full implementation of the Act requires that all enclosed public places and workplaces, including bars, taverns, and casinos, be smokefree (Montana Clean Indoor Air Act, Sections 50-40-101 through 50-40-115; http://tobaccofree.mt.gov/).

The Montana Clean Indoor Air Act is enforced by the Montana Department of Health and Human Services, along with its designees, local boards of health, and board designees under direction of the department.
