Sample No Solicitation / No Distribution Policy

An employee is not permitted to engage in solicitation of any kind or the distribution of literature at any time, in his/her working areas, or the working areas of the employees to whom the employee is attempting to solicit or distribute literature. For purposes of this rule, working time does not include break periods or meal times or other specified periods during the workday when employees are properly not engaged in performing their work tasks.

The word "solicitation" means, but is not limited to, requesting or urging anyone to give or pay or obligate himself or herself to pay money to any cause for any reason. "Solicitation" also includes, but is not limited to, requesting anyone to sign any document or authorization card indicating membership in any pool, organization, association or group, or indicating support for or a pledge to any cause. Solicitation for any reason should not be carried on, including, but not limited to, solicitation for football pool, charity, charitable or non-profit organizations of any type, political organizations or causes, any other type of organization or association, or religious or secular cause.

"Distribution of literature" means the passing out of any type of advertising, handbills, circulars, forms or other memorabilia, except for materials prepared by the company for merchandising and marketing programs.
