SampleBeck notice

SampleBeck notice

Note: On January 30, 2009, President Obama issued Executive Order 13496 entitled Notification of Employee Rights Under Federal Labor Laws. The Order revoked Executive Order 13201, issued by President Bush on February 17, 2001. The Bush Order required that federal contractors provide notice to their employees of their statutorily-protected Beck rights, including the right to not join a labor union and to object to the use of agency-fee payments for purposes unrelated to collective bargaining.

President Obama's Order, which was effective immediately, replaces the previous mandate with a broader obligation requiring federal contractors to inform their employees of all protected rights under the National Labor Relations Act. The Secretary of Labor is to prescribe the content of the actual notice.
