How can you recruit qualified individuals with disabilities?
Your organization has problems finding an adequate supply of qualified employees and you would like to expand your recruiting to include more applicants with disabilities. Where do you go to find qualified applicants with disabilities?
The President's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities has provided the following suggestions for finding qualified job applicants with disabilities:
Disseminate vacancy announcements to disability-related agencies and organizations.
State clearly in job advertisements and on application forms your organization's interest in receiving applications from persons with disabilities.
Check for community-based, disability-related organizations in your local telephone directory.
The President's Committee can also provide information on recruitment sources and disability organizations. Contact The President's Committee's Job Accommodation Network (JAN) at 1-800-ADA-WORK.
