How Does a Union Win an Election?

A union wins a representation election if a majority of ballots cast by eligible employees within a potential bargaining unit indicate that the employees want the union to serve as their exclusive bargaining representative. A union does not win an election that results in a tie --to be the exclusive bargaining representative, a union must have majority support.
