How will your organization provide hazardous chemical training for outside contractors?

How will your organization provide hazardous chemical training for outside contractors?

The person responsible for safety and health at your organization or another designated person must inform outside contractors of:

  • Any chemical hazards that the outside contractor or its employees might encounter in the normal course of their work on your company premises;

  • The labeling system used by your company;

  • Protective measures to take; and

  • Safe handling procedures to use.

In addition, outside contractors need to know the location and availability of Material Safety Data Sheets.

At the same time, outside contractors must inform your company of any hazardous chemicals that they are bringing into your company's premises and include the labeling system it uses and the precautionary measures to be taken in working with those chemicals.
